Driving Lessons

IMG_2611.JPG

I provide driving lessons of two hours at a time, or longer if requested.

I can also provide semi-intensive courses whenever other commitments allow, with up to forty hours of tuition over two to three weeks. For this to work, you would need to have already passed your theory test, and if possible you should have pre-booked a practical test to take place about a week after the intensive lessons finish. There are practical test centres in Farnborough, Chertsey and Guildford.

Typically your driving lessons will start in the wide and quiet roads of Farnborough Park. As you gain ability and confidence you will move onto busier and more complex roads, eventually taking in the various roundabouts between Farnham and Camberley, and including some fast dual carriageways and even the M3 motorway.

The Show Me, Tell Me questions

Once you have your own car, you will need to carry out some basic regular tests on things like the engine oil, tyre conditions and bulbs. To make sure that you are equipped to do that, the driving test incorporates the Show me, Tell Me questions, and on the day of your test you will be asked one of each. We will cover them during your lessons, and you can download the questions, with answers relevant to my tuition car, from this link:

Driving Theory

The driving theory test consists of a fifty-question multiple-choice quiz based on the highway code and fourteen cgi clips showing road scenarios where things start to go wrong. The pass rate is low, well below 50%, so it is worth doing some serious work towards it. You should at the minimum read the highway code and study road signs. I can also provide my pupils, free of charge, access to the paid-for app Theory Test Pro, which will allow you to practise for the test.

Pass Plus

For anyone who would like more training after passing their test I offer Pass Plus. This is a short course, set up by the DVSA, covering town and country roads, bad weather and night driving, dual carriageways and motorways. The course lasts a minimum of six hours, and some insurance companies give a discount to new drivers who have taken it.
